Organization:
- 20x20 grid or adjusted as needed
- Four jokers on the outside, two teams of three players on the inside paired off
Instructions:
- For the beginning of the activity, each joker can have a ball and one team (i.e. red players) are checking into the joker, receiving the ball, and playing it back. They then find a new joker and repeat, receiving, protecting, and passing the ball. After 1 minute, teams switch roles
- Team in possession is trying to keep the ball by utilizing the jokers on the outside and the players in the middle
- Defenders are man marking, therefore they must defend only the player they are paired with
- Progress into having only 2 balls. Now players receive and want to try and play the ball into a new target player
- Progress into one ball, and have a possession game of 3v3+4
Coaching Points:
- Players working on dismark to create space away from defenders
- Players always moving into the line of the ball but also on different lines/heights from the other teammates
- Communication and showing where you want the ball with your hands
