Passing and Receiving: Technical Practice
Organisation
The numbers indicate the player's starting positions (both 2&3) marked by opposing players. Players 2 and 3 move off their startng positions to receive the ball. Every player follows their pass to the next starting position.
Coaching Points
1. Accurate Passing (Technical), ball must go to the position of the player when receiving not the starting position. Weight of pass.
2. Receiving players, sharp movements, become hard to mark. (Physical)
3. Recognise triggers for movement to ensure speed of practice (Tactical)
4. Awareness. Where is the receiving player? (Cognitive)

Squads play 7v7 on four 'triangle' goals (2 blue, 2 red). A squad can score a point by passing the ball through one of the traingle gates (either side) to a team mate. Three points equal one goal!
Players should focus on dealing with space, which includes dispersal, distance of support and angles of support.

The yellow squad can only score points through the red triangles, the white squad can only score points through the blue triangles. Three points equal one goal! Players are now asked to focus on pace and the ball, which includes the weight of the pass, the number of touches and the part of the foot to pass and receive the ball.

15' - 3 in 1
5 passes equals goal, after first 3 goals, teams can now also score by stopping the ball on their attacking half endline between the yellow and red cone and they will keep the ball or by scoring in the mini goal placed in their attacking half.
3 ways to score, possession is king. Decisions, shape, speed of play, movement off ball, communication

4. Awareness. Where is the receiving player? 2 player should have his head up to receiving after looking over shoulder to player 3. This is the trigger for 3 to realise the ball is coming. (Cognitive)
Differentition + Progressions
Technical Changes: Player 2 can receive the ball in different ways. Eg. Turn on front foot, across the body using back foot, across the body using sole. Drag back with sole to face up the defender before playing. (Coerver)
Tactical Changes: Introduce GK at each end. instead of 3 playing to 1, 3 shoots into the hands of GK to perform various catches. GK then rolls out to 1, who drops to receive before playing again.
