Possible pattern of play
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
- Yellows are neutrals, play with possession.
- Possession team can only move up and down their line (apart from the #6)
- Game never stops (manage transitional moments)
- When defenders win ball the must maintain possession while they adopt their attacking shape (on the lines)
- Defending team come in (off their lines)
Coaching Points
- Width & Depth
- Back foot vs front foot (why?)
- Attract defenders to ball to create space elsewhere
- 6 support play and receive in and behind lines of pressure
- wide players move up and down line to support ball and give best angle
- When 6 receives ball, wide players get ahead
- First look forward to penetrate, otherwise maintain possession for another opening
- Coach 3rd man movements
