Organization:

  • As above, distance depending on quality and size of group. 

Instructions:

  • Player on cone 1 feeds the ball to player on cone 2
  • Player on cone 2 passes the ball into the space, in the direction of the next cone 1, for player on cone 3 to run on to. 
  • Players rotate by following their pass/moving to the next cone

Organization:

  • A square with 2 players in and 4 players out. 1v1+2.

Instructions:

  • Player on outside starts with ball
  • Passes to teammate on inside 
  • Teammate on inside is to look to play the teammate on the opposite side

Coaching Points/Questions:

  • Movement off ball to create space to receive
  • Do we check into space or pin defender back?
  • Timing of pass, by identifying teammates movement
  • How to receive away from pressure?

Regressions/Progressions:

  • 2v2 in the middle
  • Keep score
  • 4 outside are neutral

Organization:

  • 4v4+3 

Instructions:

  • team in possession stays wide and spread out and works with the neutral players to keep possession. 
  • The defending team is to stay narrow/compact and look to press as a unit to win the ball. 
  • Once defence wins the ball, they are to transition and spread out to now possess with the neutrals. 
  • The team that lost possession is to transition, become narrow and look to win the ball. 

Coaching Points/Questions:

  • Defensive team to set traps and move as a unit
  • Attacking team to:
  • Move the ball quickly 
  • Scan 
  • Off the ball movement
  • Body position to receive
  • Direction and distance of first touch

Regressions/Progressions:

  • Add/decrease number of players
  • Increase/decrease size of field
