Organization:
3 V 3 plus target player
Emphasise the defensive movement in relation to the ball and how that movement opens up space on the opposite side of the field. Explain how switching the point of attack quickly to that side could exploit that space and allow a pass into the target player.
Coaching Points:
1.Maintain width to try and create the opportunity to penetrate
2.When to play to feet, when to play to space
3.Timing of the run in behind defensive line
4.Move the ball quickly to unbalance defensive line
5.Be patient
Progressions:
1. Two touch limit
2. Allow one more defender to enter

4 Goal Game
Each team can score in two goals placed in the corners of the field.
Stop the drill at appropriate points to highlight how the defensive team have moved as a reaction to the position of the ball and to point out how this has affected the available space on the field.
Emphasise the importance of the team in possession maintaining their width to be best prepared to exploit that new space. Also state the importance of speed of play, the quicker the ball moves from one side of the field to the other, the easier it is to move into the vacated space.

Warm Up (15 mins)
Description: Players form 2 lines. Both begin at the same time and jog from the first cone (A) to the second cone, lines then turn and run with high knees diagonally across the square so that both lines cross each other. Both lines then perform the same dynamic flex back to the starting position (A). The drill is run twice for each stretch.
After stretching sequences are complete replace the jog, high knees, dynamic flex with variations of jog, sprint, and walk to elevate players' heart rates and body temperatures.
