Organization:
Groups of 3.
4 - 10x15 Squares.
(1 ball to 3 players to encorage more touches & repetition)
Split square into 3 lines.
Instructions:
Players all start on the same side of square
Messi touches to the middle line then perfrom Xavi Turn (U-Turn) and pass to next player who does the same.Once player passes back then jog to the back of the line.
Coaching Points:
Messi Touches - Small touches using pinky toe to dribble taking a touch every step.
Xavi Turn - Using sole or inside of the foot if player is turning right, body turns left
whilst dragging/pushing the ball away.
-Encourage a high intensity to the drill and make reference to Messi & Xavi.
-When performing Xavi Turn make sure the player gets ball out of feet with final touch so
they can pass the ball in a smooth motion straight away without taking a extra touch.
- Passes should be sharp and accurate helping the receiving to take a good first touch
out of feet to then continue using Messi touches.
- Encourage players to use both feet even change sides half way through so players have
to use other foot to turn.
Progressions:
1. When player passes back, play a give and go with receiving player.
2. Once player has played the ball back add pressure to receiving making player take a
touch to take it away from passing player.

Organization:
Same set up as before, players stay in there grid in 3's.
Players make a triangle in the grid with one player working the other 2 resting.
Instructions:
Player working is at the top of the triangle, Players receiving the ball take one touch to control opening up to pass to other player. Players switch roles on Coaches command.
Coaching Points:
-Receive ball on back foot
-Take touch out of feet making it easier and quicker to move the ball
-Passes should be sharp played in with pace.
-Stay on toes allowing players to get in line with the ball.
-Choose which surface
-Head up after first touch
-Eye Contact with passing player
-Communication

Organization:
1 triangle with working player inside
Two players 15 yards from the triangle.
1 defender 10 yards away central to the Triangle.
Instructions:
Player 1 plays ball to player to player 2 (from either side) Player 3 is resting.
Once player 2 takes first touch then Defender becomes active.
Player 2 has to dribbling ball through one of the 2 gates.
If defender steals the ball then they can score in the goal behind the triangle.
Coaching Points:
-Moving first touch away from pressure
-On toes ready to receive the ball
-Move in line with the ball
-Communication
-Head up as ball travels
-1st touch out of feet to allow head to come up straight away.
-Passing player
-Eye contact before passing
-Quality of pass, Pace and accuracy.
-Transition quickly if player loses the ball to try and win it back
-Transition quickly as defender to attack and score if they win it.
Progressions:
Keep a score, 1 point for a dribble through a gate, 3 points if defender scores in goal.

- 3 Lines of attack, Defender, Midfield, Striker (rotate players
-Create as much space for player in possession
-Try to create a triangle at all to give good angle of support.
-Look to gaps to attack using Messi touches
-First thought is to go forward then if nothing is on, play back to start again.

Warm Up - Juggling
Organization:
1 ball between 2 players with cone inbetween the two players.
Instructions:
Juggling warm up to get players moving, 1 bounce before every touch to keep it controlled.
Coaching Points:
Soft touches keeping ball under control.
On toes to move quickly to get in line with the ball.
Progressions:
2 touch - Use thigh, chest etc.
Players keep a score to make it competitive.
