Who: Player who has regained possession along with the players in support positions. The central players (CBs & CMs) responsible to develop the attack.
What: Circulate the ball out of pressure to find a player with time and space. Teammates off the ball must EXPAND and create maximum space quickly.
Where: Many times possession is regained in Zone 1(defensive 3rd) or Zone 2(middle 3rd) and to maintain possession look to circulate the ball into a different channel of the field.
When: The moment possession is regained or anticipating that moment by reading the cues of a probable turnover.
Why: Establishing possession in transitional moments allows our teams to have the ball for longer periods. We want to develop creative attacking minded players and we need possession of the ball to do so.

Set Up:
As shown. Ball always starts with the GK who starts with the ball centrally on 6 yard line. Then plays to a CB to begin play.
Objective is for your Red team to possess the ball and build their way over the blues defensive line.
Blues can go straight to goal if they win the ball.
Optional: come up with your own starting options that involve your keeper.
Alternate what numbers your possession team faces. E.g. a front 2-3 or a 1-4. Add pressure based on success.

4v2 Transition Possession
Set Up:
Two 20x20 areas (make larger depending on ability). Dividing line in the middle of both.
Depending on numbers, set up another area to split your team in two.
Objective:
3-4 passes in a zone by possession team and then play can be switched to the other side.
All Red/Blue players transition with the ball.
If play is switched twice, the waiting defenders switch in to press to relieve the other pressing players.
Four switches of possession and then all players can change roles.
