Organization:
-4 cones setup in a Y shape as shown 10 yards apart
-Groups of 4-5 players
Instructions:
Progression 1
Player at base of the "Y" plays into the middle cone, player at the middle cone receives the ball and play it into the either of the players at the top of the Y,player at the top receives the ball and dribbles back to the starting line. Next player in the middle plays to the opposite player at the top of the "Y".
Rotation is that the players A-B-C-A
Progression 2
Same rotation and setup as previous. Now we will look for the player to take a touch to one side, this will now determine the movement and the next pass of the player in the middle.
Progression 3
Setup is now 2 players in the middle of the field, with 1 attacker and 1 passive defender. And now one player at the 3rd line.
The passive defender will not be looking to win the ball. Now we will looking to work on the movement of all lines in coordination.
Coaching Points:
Part 1
Receiving Technique
Movement to create space to receive on the back foot
Communication: Visual (Eye Contact), Body Language (Body Shape ready to receive, denoting what foot wish to receive with), Verbal (Demand for the ball "FEET")
Part 2/3
-Movement based upon the intial touch of the 1st attacker, between all 3 lines
-Movement of the 2nd line to create an angle and space to receive and play into 3rd attacker.

Organization:
Setup as shown
Instructions:
This is a progression to now add in now a live defender
For the attacking team to score a point they must be able to play the ball into the 3rd line, without the defender winning the ball.
Restrictions:
-All attacking players are on 2 touch maximum
-Defender is live but their movement is restricted to be only able to play side to side. Look to block the pass, but not tackle
Coaching Points:
-Can we look to play through the lines into the 3rd line as a first option, without forcing it.
-Movement off the 2nd line to create a passing lane or a angle/line to receive the ball
-If pressure is loose on the 2nd line (passing lane to the 3rd target has been blocked), look to receive on back foot and play the pass with the alternate foot. However, this may change due to the recovery pressure of the defender.
-Patience with the shape to maintain options for player in possession
Progressions:
-Play is now in both directions to obtain a point
-Defender is able to move in all directions, if they win the ball they score a point by dribbling across a counter line.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
2 targets per team located on each end line
3v3, 4v4, or 5v5 in the middle area dependent upon numbers
Instructions:
Objective to score points is for the ball to travel from one target to the other target on the opposite end line, with the ball have to be played through a player in the middle.
**If numbers are odd, allow for a neutral in the middle area**
Coaching Points:
-Look to play positive when in possession
-If unable to penetrate, look to possess- PATIENCE
-Movement of players not in possession to be able to provide 3 distinct lines of attack to allow for passing lanes or provide support for players in possession.
Progressions:
Allow ball to play from one target to the next for a point
-to score a point it must go through targets 2x

SAQ (10 mins)
Organization:
2x 2 yard starting gates
4x 2 yard finishing gates (2 blue in line with and 10 yards from eithr side of nearest starting gate, 2 yellow 20 yards opposite blue)
4-6 SAQ/agility marker cones
players in pairs and split into 2 teams
Instructions:
On coaches command each pair race through the SAQ marker cones in a way designated by the coach (bunny hops, 2 forward 1 back etc.).
When past last marker the player must check over his shoulder, the coach holds up either a blue or yellow pinnie just before the first player does this.
If the coach holds up a yellow pinnie the first player through the yellow gate wins a point for their team (and the same for blue).
Repeat for next pair.
Play first team to x amount of points
Coaching Points:
Your decision is based on the information you receive from checking your shoulder
Progressions:
Teams now split, half go into opposite gate and have balls
-if coach holds up blue pinnie, a double pass must be played and ball stopped in between blue cones to score point.
-if coach holds up yellow pinnie the player must take positive 1st touch toward yellow gate and stop ball in between to score point.
