Activity 1 - Gauntlet (1v1s)
The attacker must dribble passed the defender and dribble through one of the gates along the top row. If they do that successfully, they will then play against the next defender in the next square. Every time they dribble through a gate successfully, they get 5 points.
Progressions
Rep 1 (2 minutes) - If the defender wins the ball they give it back to the attacker and the attacker moves onto the next square. When the attacker moves on to the next square that is when the next attacker moves in. [10 seconds to get through the square.
Rep 2 (4 minutes) - If the defender wins the ball they swap roles.
Rep 3 (4 minutes) - If the defender wins the ball it now becomes a 1v1.

- Where are they looking?
- How can they protect the ball when performing a pull back or step over?
- When they have a space to move into, what speed do they move into it?

Activity 2 - 4 Goal Dribble
Rep 1 (3 minute game) - Dribble through any goal apart from the one just scored in by any team.
Rep 2 (4 minute game) - Dribble through any goal but you must score in the goals which have not been scored in.
Rep 3 (4 minute game) - Dribble through the coloured goals which Coach asks you to dribble through.
Rep 4 (4 minute game) - Dribble through the coloured goal and around the cone to then come back into the square.

Game - 4v4
The players will competitive in a 4v4/5v5 game in one half of the soccer field. There will be a focus on how they dribble during the exercise and also a focus on these game specific ideals which they must get used to for 7v7 soccer.
1) Retreating back to the build out line (Where do you need to be for their goal kick) ONLY 1 player enters that zone and defends the attacker.

Warm-Up - Ball Familiarisation (Step over and pull back) (10 mins)
Warm-Up - Ball Familiarisation (Step over and pull back)
Players will get into pairs. It is a semi-opposed exercise in a small based area to encourage lots of small touches with inside and outside of the foot. The attacker dribbles the ball with the intention of getting away from the defender and the defender has the intention from stopping the attacker from moving in that direction and blocking off their space.
Progressions (45 seconds)
Rep 1 - Free dribble
Rep 2 - Can the attacker dribble to the outside of the square and then performed a pull back (1 point) - Defender still can not win the ball)
Rep 3 - The defender can still not win the ball. and the players get a point for every time they dribble to the outside of the square, perform a step over and get away from the defender.
Rep 4 (45 seconds x 4) - Now the players are going 1v1. WHO can dribble through the most gates in 60 seconds and perform a pull back for 5 points and a step over for 10 points.
