Unopposed finishing. Attacking the goal at speed.
Set up as the picture. Rotations are always position 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to 1.
a) Pass and follow 1 to 2; 2 to 3. 3 controls the ball towards the middle for a shot. (sole of feet to control) (both directions)
b) 1 pass to 2; 2 pass to 3 who lays the ball off with sole of feet for 2 who takes a shot. Give the players the option for 3 to dribble to the middle, so 2 can overlap 3 for a shot as well.

Opposed finishing. 1v1 and 2v1
Progression from last drill, same set up. Rotations are still 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to 1.
a) 1 pass to 2, 2 pass to 3 and inmediately go defend a 1v1 to goal.
b) 1 pass (and gets ready to attack) to 2. 2 pass (and gets ready to defend) to 3. Creates a 2v1 (position 1 and 3 against 2).

1v1 Attacking and Defending in transition. Red team behind left goal, blue team behind right goal.
a) Red player attacks the blue defender 1v1 to goal. When the play is over (goal, shot missed, defender stole the ball), the 1st player on the blue lines takes off dribbling the ball trying to score in the opposite goal. The red player who was just the attacker becomes the defender. After the blue attacker finishes his play, he then becomes a defender.
b) Progression is to attack 2v1. Longest one goes out. (Sequence: Attack/Defend/Attack/OUT)

Game. Set up in 2-2 offensively and 2-2 defensively.
- After working on 1v1s, setting up both teams in a 2-2 will increase the individual battles.
- Teach concept of defending on a box.
- Concept of pressure / cover with the front 2 defending players.

Technical Square (Turns + 1v1 moves through traffic)
4 even lines fill the exterior flat cones (big square).
a) The 4 players in front of each line must dribble to the cone directly in front of them and back to their line. (sole of feet fwd, roll with sole of feet, R+L).
b) The 4 players in front of each line must dribble to the cone directly in front of them, perform a turn and pass back to their own line and follow. (pull back, around the cone with sole off feet)
c) The 4 players in front of each line must dribble past the cone in front of them into the little square. Once out, they will pass the ball to 1st person in the line diagonal from where they started. Follow the pass.
d) The 4 players in front of each line must dribble to the first cone directly in front of them, perform a turn and pass the ball to the line to their right. (moves: pull and drag with sole, around the cone with sole of feet). Change directions and feet to perform turn and pass.
