Description

What:

  • Inorder to improve the players ability to guide their first touch in order to escape the 1st defenders  pressure from frontal diagonal pressure (left/right)

Who:

  • Focus Team #7, #9, #11 vs Opponent: #2, #4, #5, #3

Where:

  • Middle 1/3 to Attacking 1/3

When:

  • The attacker receives the ball in the middle 1/3 wide and the pressuring trigger from the opponent is forcing the 1st attacker into the central zone by the attacking 1/3

Why:

Due to the 1st attacker inability to execute a guided first touch inorder to maximize their speed when attempting to dribble forward and not being able to absorb the pressure initiated by the 1st defenders from angles (left/right).

What if:

Theres space ahead by the wide areas in order to escape pressure from the 1st defender? Continue to drive forward wide and exploit the space in order to finish the attack.

How: Look up before and after you receive the ball and identify where the space is available and guide the first touch to the desired space in order to espcae with speed
