Organisation
Use a half pitch and create two 10 yard channels either side.
Use two goals.
Split players into two teams:
6 blue + GK playing in a 4-2;
8 red playing in a 2-4-2.
Instructions
Play commences from the blue GK.
When out of possession, the two red defenders play as CB's. As soon as they gain posession, they play as LB/RB.
When out of possession, the LMF and RMF drop to create a 4 man bank together with the 6 & 8 screen.
CMF and CF play higher and place pressure on the blue players.
When the blue team are in possession, the channels cannot be used.
Once the red team gain possession:
Coaching Points
1. As soon as the ball is won by the red team, red players must transition quickly. Assuming 6/8 win the ball, LMF and RMF must seek to enter the channels as high and as quick as possible. The non receiving LMF/RMF will adjust his position accordingly.
2. No.6 must continually scan - and seek to play the ball to LMF/RMF depending on the picture in front of him. If that pass is not on, consider alternatives - direct ball into CF? or into CMF?
3. Remaining players must support and adjust their positions accordingly.
