4 PHASES OF ATTACKING
Phases of Pitch Breakdown
1) Escape - Build Phase (calm)
1 - Can you escape with the ball yourself (1v1, dribble, RWTB)
2 - Can you combine with a team-mate to escape ( 1-2, give and go, angles, movement to receive, use of GK)
3 - Can the ball be used to escape ( forward pass, out ball, long ball, switch of play)
2. Safe Zone - Keep Phase
1. Can you keep possession in this area ( ball protection, skills, 1v1)
2. Can you use team-mates to keep the ball ( possession, overloads, pass & move, 1-2)
3. Can you use the ball to break out into next area ( forward pass, RWTB, pass & move, dribble)
3. Breakthrough Phase - CREATIVITY
1 - Can you get through on your own into the finish phase (skills & tricks, 1v1, beat a player)
2 - Can you combine with players to enter the finish phase ( give and go, movement, fakes, 3rd man runs, switch of play)
3 - Can you use the ball to break into finish phase (through ball, 3rd man run, overloads)
4. Finish phase - (END PRODUCT)
1. Can you get into good positions to score or cross - If not rebuild
2. Can you find a team-mate in a good position to score - no rebuild or stay on the ball, create your own opportinuty to score.
3. If no shot or cross can we rebuild into keep or breakthrough phase to move players around.
