Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Pirates Week

Pirates With Ball

Organization:

The playing area will be set up in rectangle grid. With a cone of a different color at the top.

Instructions:

The coach is the Captain of the ship and the players are the crew. They are now all Pirates. The Pirates will begin by dribbling around and finding space on the boat's deck, but only on the deck. Going overboard is not allowed because there are sharks out there. The captain will call out the different sides of the boat which are: Bow, Stern, Port, and Starboard (aslo, top, bottom, left, right). As each side is called out, the players must go to that side. Players will now have to scrub the deck (box the ball), hoist the sails (toe touches), clear the deck (pick the ball up above their head), scrub the deck (rolling th ball underneath thier feet) and "CANNONBALL" (makes all the players drop to the floor for safety).

Treasure Hunting

Organization:

The players will be in a scrimmage sized grid, and each player will have a ball at their feet.

Instructions:

The players are all captains of their own pirate ship which they will name (soccer ball)

They will dribble around to find treasure (different colored cones than your grid)

Players must pick up the dropped treasure and hand it to you. (Only one treasure at a time, please)
