The aim of the entire session is to focus on shooting and improving the on goal striking. Specifically using different type of shooting e.g. laces, inside of the boot, outside of the boot, volley and 1v1. Ideally the drill shows and practices how the participants should utilise the space within game scenarios.

Technical Make sure that the technique is also perfected during these drills so that the performance of the strike is done to the best of each individuals standard. |

Tactical Ensure the participants are practicing what they can do in game scenarios. |

Physical Ensure they are finding it physically demanding so it reflects the same as a game day scenario. |

Psychological Ensure that the participants are taking the session seriously so they can practice what they need to perfect in game day scenarios. |

Social Ensure that the communication between players and the coaches is appropriate and respectful. |
Drill:
Organisation:
- Area size; Half pitch.
- Equipment: cones, bibs, goals and footballs.
Steps:
1. All players have a hall each and stand behind the red cone.
2. The participant passes into the coach, shouts which side the want the ball laid off too.
3. then takes a shot outside of the area.
4. Proceed with this the add progressions and challenges.
5. As the are 2 goalkeepers ensure they change after every two shots. They should organise this between themselves.
Progressions:
- Add defenders into the game; starting from the back line.
- Players chip the ball into the coach and the coach throws the ball for a volley.
- Allow participants to lay off each other; maximising ball rolling time.
- Play the ball through into 1v1.
Regressions:
- Decrease the distance between players and the goal.
- Make the lay off shorter to benefit the player to have time.
Challenges.
- Score all shots.
- Score with weak foot.
- Score a volley.
- Incorporate a skill in the 1v1.
The mechanics of shooting:
1. Get your body in a position to strike.
2. Angled approach.
3. Non-kicking foot besides the ball.
4. Head over the ball.
5. Select the surface and strike e.g. laces, inside/outside of the boot.
6. Follow through.
7. Accuracy and aim.

Small sided game.
Organisation:
- Area size: Half pitch + 2 full size goals.
- Equipment: cones, footballs, bibs and goals.
Steps:
1. Begin with a normal 6 aside game however using full size goals. This helps the goalkeeper maintain good skills in full size goals.
2. Set targets and introduce progressions into the game.
3. Specifically targets within the goals for extra points to be scored and maintain.
Progressions:
- Add targets for extra points.
- Add a passing target.
- Only allowed to score inside the box or outside the box.
Regressions:
- Change the teams around.
- Increase the area size.
Challenges:
- Make 'X' amount of passes before scoring.
- Score 'X' amount of goals.
- Hit the target on every shot.

Warm up:Organisation:
- Area size: half pitch.
- Equipment: cones, bibs, footballs and goals.
Steps:
1. Jogging around the area using the full area
2. Stretching the legs out.
3. Changing direction at speed.
4. If the coach shout 1 = they jump for the header. 2 = sprint to the nearest touch line.
5. Participant need to be aware for what transport they use. The coach will shout this.
6. Follow this with dynamic and static stretches.
Some examples of stretching are; forward lung, side lung, squat, open and close the gate, calf dip and leg swings.
Progressions:
- Add more transports.
- Add more stretches.
- Make the area bigger.
- Incorporate footballs.
