All Options are based on different situations and types of press.

KEY POINTS -

1.Movment to position and speed of play are vital in order to prevent the defenders from getting set.

2. If play breaks down we retain our narrower positions.

Passing Option 1

- CBs drop wide to the edge of the box and "open up" (Half Turn).

- MF screens the edge of the box, incase play break downs when CBs are split.

- W push high and wide to increase the space for GK and CBs to play out. Look to recieve the ball and play forward.

- CF starts high and looks to play on the shoulder of defenders whilst looking to be avalibe to recieve the ball and eithr hold it and bring MF or W into play, OR spin and drive towards the goal.

PASSING OPTION 1 - GK passes to either CB. CB looks to play to their W. W plays forward to CF or dribbles into the space if allowed (encourage 1v1). MF supports the CF once the CBs have recovered.

Passing Option 2

- CBs drop wide to the edge of the box and "open up" (Half Turn).

- MF drops and looks for the ball. Open body position.

- W push high and wide to increase the space for GK ,CBs & MF to play out. Look to recieve the ball and play forward.

- CF high and occupying the defenders. Look to stay free and collect the ball.

PASSING OPTION 2 - GK passes into the MF who looks to turn and play forward or sets to CBs who then play forward.

Passing Option 3.

- CBs split to the corners of the area however stay narrower then usually to prevent the space for the strikers.

- MF drops to offer support to CBs incase of loose pass and to create more space for the W. After ball is played MF spins and joins in the attack.

- Ws come in off the line, and look to recieve the ball and play forward.

- CF stays high and occupies defenders to create space for W initially. if possible looks to run of the shoulder of the defenders.

PASSING OPTION 3 - GK passes directly to the W (ideally on the ground but not essential), W looks to recieve and play forward if possible, if not nearest CB can offer an option to play too. MF looks to support and offer options for a set. CF moves to the side where the ball is and offers down the linne OR into feet. W without the ball comes central to add to the attack.

Passing Option 4

- CBs split to the edge of the box to create space for a forward pass

- MF splits left or right to create avenue for forward pass to the CF

- W stay wide to create width and space for central players

- CF moves opposite to MF and looks to recieve the ball whilst keeping high.

PASSING OPTION 4 - GK plays directly to CF. CF looks to either

1. Turn and dribble forward.

2. set the ball to nearest W to create 1v1 opportunity.

3. sets to MF who ccan drive forward if space allows OR switch to opposite W in the space.
