  • Soccer Balls

  • 4 Puggs/Goals

Combinations (40 mins)

Combination play:

- player with the ball pass to the middle player, middle player in a half turn receives the ball, give the first touch forward and pass to the next player; players move to the place they passed

- player A pass to B; B repeats the pass as he/she has the back to the game; player A receives in the space and then makes a long ball to C;

- A pass to B, B repeats the pass and get wider; player A pass to B, who is wider and in a better body position, player B receives the ball and pass to C

2v1v1 (30 mins)

Equipment Needed:

  • Pinnies
  • 1 large goal
  • 1 small goal
  • Soccer balls
Session Organization:
  • 1 passes to 2
  • Attackers work together to advance into Zone 2
  • Once in Zone 2, attackers work to score a goal
  • Defenders are confined to their zone
  • If the GK wins the ball they play out to their team and they work together to score
  • Defender Rotation
    •  Zone 1 goes to Zone 2
    • Zone 2 becomes GK
    • GK goes to the back of Zone 1 line
Coaching Points:
  • Identify when to pass and when to dribble
  • Identify supporting angles/distance 
  • Movement off the ball to support - runs, action 
  • Make the defender make a decision
