Equipment– 10 cones, 1 ball (have extra)
Explanation– Players move from defensive formation to offensive formation. Coach feeds the ball to players in different areas of the pitch in their defensive formation. The make 10 quick, high quality passes using both bounce passes and switching playing moving in offensive formation depending on location of the ball.
Objectives– Transition from defensive formation to offensive formation, positioning.
CoachingPoints – Positioning, movement, gaps between players, correct distances and arrangement of formation.

Exercise 1 (15 mins)
Equipment– 8 cones (at least 3 colours)
Explanation– Different colour cones placed in different areas of the pitch. Eg. Green, red 1, red 2, yellow. Coach calls colour (or colour and number) and the players move in the correct defensive formation at the same time. Ball used to indicate the call, won't be used in session.
Objectives– Defensive formation, alignment, positional understanding.
CoachingPoints – Alignment, communication, awareness of teammates position.
