Objective: improve our combination play
Organization: 8-16 players in a circle with 2-4 on the inside with soccer balls.
Instructions: players on the inside pass the ball to players on the inside who dribble in and find another outside player with the ball.
Variations: (1) wall pass, (2) overlap, (3) up/back/thru, (4) add players on the inside without a ball to add another combination inside.
Coaching Points: (1) Quality of passing; (2) Quality of receiving; (3) Movement; (4) Communication.

Objective: improving overlapping in WeP3
Organization: 10v1. Set up mannequins 14 yards above the 18. Put down dots vertically to represent 5 lanes of play (left lane, left center, center, right center, right lane.).
Instructions: players execute passing pattern and finish. After the finish to add transition a coach calls out the number of a defender (2,3,4,5) and the attacking players must recover to press that player.
Progressions: (1) 8/7 & 10/11 overlap (2) 2/7 & 5/11 overlap, (3) 9 overlap, (4) add combination with 9, (5) add slip pass with 9, (6) add weak side run with 8/10, (7) add weak side run by 7/11
Coaching Points: (1) Quality of passes; (2) Quality of movement - especially checking away, checking to, breaking lines, dragging defenders, (3) Vision of the field - checking shoulder, scanning field while ball is traveling, eyes up. (4) Quality of runs in the box (near, far, slot, (5) Finishing: proper choice of power, placement, re-direct.

Competition: Goal = 5 pts, 9 overlap = 3 pts, 8/10 overlap = 2 pts, 2/5 overlap = 1 pt.

Rondo 8v2 (10 mins)
Objective: mental and physical activation game for the training session.
Set-up: 10x10 grid. 10 players.
Instructions: players play 1 touch keep away. If the defenders win the ball they drop the vests and transition quickly into the possession.
Timing: Play 4 minutes, stretch on their own 2 minutes, play 4 minutes then go into dynamic stretch.
Coaching Points: (1) quality of passes, (2) receiving the ball open across our body, (3) proper passing and receiving, movement to fill in spaces, fast transitions from defending to attacking and from attacking to defending.
