SSG1 (20 mins)

Organization
  • Minigoal at one end, normal goal with GK on the other side.
  • Half field, neutrals on the flanks, flat marker line 1/3 up the grid from the mini goal.

Activity

Red team looks to score on the goalkeeper, blue on the mini goal. Neutrals on the flanks play for the team in possession.

One red player must stay below the flat marker line and act as support (ball playing 6) while in possession. Every stoppage results in play restarting with the reds from their goal (GK, Corner, O/B, Goal, etc.). Teams switch roles after 10 mins.

  • Attacking Principles of Play (Dispersal, Movement, Creativity, Penetration and Support)
  • First touch positive/forward
  • Look to play across the channels to open up gaps
  • Exploit open gaps to shoot or play a through pass into a forward player.
  • Take your chances (no excess touches)

Activity (35 mins)

Organization

1/4 of mini pitch, mini goals opposite of normal goal

3v2+GK, with one attacker below the line.

Activity

Play starts with GK playing the ball to any of the three attacking players starting on the line of cones. Attacking players look to work together to score against the attacking team. One attacker must stay on the line between the mini goals. They look to exploit gaps by playing through passes into teammates or cycling possession. If they given the time and space, they can shoot.

  • Attacking Principles of Play (Movement, Penetration, Creativity and Support)
  • First touch positive/forward
  • Look to play across the channels to open up gaps
  • Speed of play is high to unsettle defenders.
  • Exploit open gaps to shoot or play a through pass into a forward player.
  • Take your chances (no excess touches)
