Set up as shown above with players grouped into 3's. Each line of cones should be roughly 15-20m away. In between progressions can incorporate dynamic stretching as part of warm-up

 

1) Teams will begin with passing in their trios around the cone, should be one touch and always on their feet. Relax and dynamics. Incorporate that once coach blows whistle, groups will run across to the opposite side and continue their activity. Coach can call whether or not its a jog, 80% run or sprint

 

2) side foot volleys. One players serving to other two who are working - once players run across to opposite side, a different player can serve. 

 

3) thigh and side foot volley - alternate right and left

 

4) Touch ball, check back for header

 

5) Back to passing in trios. This time, on coaches call, the player with the ball will dribble quickly to the opposite group and join them. If there is uneven groups (e.g. 9 groups) the team without someone else on the opposite side can dribble to half way point, then back to rejoin his group
