Now we add a center mid.
The focus now is the movement of the center mid. When Player A (Centerback) plays the ball to the right back. As that ball is played, we want our Center mid to check away to lose their "defender" and sprint back to receive the ball from Player B (rightback). The center mid now bounces the ball (Bounce = 1 touch) to the right winger. Cones Represent defenders. So we are asking the center mid to find the right wingers out-side foot away from the defender
Rotation: Once the right back completes his pass to the Center Mid, that player now becomes the Center mid for the pass coming the opposite direction from the left back. Player A moves to Player B. Player B becomes center mid as Player D. Player D moves to Player E. Player E returns to the beginning. Follow your pass rotation Rotation example A-B-D-F (though ball goes A-B-D-E) and vise-versa

Passing Pattern The focus of this pattern is we now ask the center mid to receive across the body with furthest foot, and quickly play to the opposite side of the field to our left winger. Center mid uses two touches. The center mid must position their body to receive the ball facing forward towards the wingers. Follow your pass rotation. A-B-D-F, A-C-D-E

We are asking our Center mid to bounce the ball again to the right winger. Now that Player E receives the ball, Player E passes to player B for a combination ( passes 4 and 5). Rotations are the same, Player B becomes the Center Mid.

Last progression: Fast forward to pass 4. Player E passes to player B. Player B now combines inside to our center mid(5). Player E sprints and looks for the pass from the Center mid(6).

4v4+3 positional possession game Red players are neutrals. Team in blue and team in Red are in possession vs the 4 defenders.
30x30 area
each corner has a 8yd long by 5 yd wide area for flank players.
Rules:
Team in Blue must stay within their position (shade area as an example). Red and Blue try to keep possession against the 4 defenders. The defending team must win the ball 5 times in order to switch with Blue. If the Blue team connects 10 passes ,they earn a point. Example:If the game begins and the defending team has not won the ball yet, they need 5 times to switch. If on the first possession the blue/red team connects 10 passes they earn a point, and now the defenders have to win the ball 6 times to switch.
Coachingpoints:
-Point out what each position on the field represents (this player is our right- back etc)
-When Center backs have the ball, Outside backs must stay higher to help break lines as the team builds to other side
