Greeting and Warmup:
5 min.- Static stretches; high knee marching then fast feet, stretch to the sky and touch toes, bunny hops and one leg balance, helicopter twists and airplane bends. Do each pair 3 times.
Organization:
Split the field into 2 areas of 20x15, with an open area of 30x 20 at one end.
Instructions:
Field 1, 8 min.- Start with players split into 2 teams on opposite sides.Dribble one at a time to the middle, picking up a cone dribble tback and drop it on the pole. Continue until all the cones have been placed on the poles. Have players count the cones they placed on the pole after all cones have been retreived, Repeat
Field 2, 8 min.- Players split into 2 groups. Player dribbles to the hurdle and touches the ball through, step or jump over. Next dribble to the coach who will toss the ball back to the player who catches it then throws ball between coaches legs and finishes with a shot on goal. Retrieve the ball and wait beside the goal for all players to finish and repeat in the opposite direction.
Switch fields after water break, then all players go to the open area after next water break.
Open Area: 10 min.- First 2 times run through without ball, following the path, over the hurdles, through the gate and back to the start. Repeat dribbling the ball.
Coaching points:
Dribble with small touches- step, touch, step, touch.
Head up while dribbling.
