Ball Mastery
Organization:
Each player with a ball. Coach calls out moves for players to perform.
Key moves:
-Inside cut
-Outside cut
-Cruyff
-Pull back (heel toe turn and go).
-Scissors
Coaching points:
-Explode away after move.
-Slightly bigger touches when exploding away.
-Explode away into space.
-Eyes up.
-Use moves to change direction
Progression:
-Sharks and minnows.
-Stuck in the Mud: Everyone with a ball dribbling inside the area, pick one or two taggers (mud monsters) with or without a ball depending on ability. Mud Monsters run/dribble around the area trying to tag any of the dribblers. When a dribbler is tagged they are stuck in the mud and holding their ball over their head with their feet spread at least shoulder width apart, other dribblers can free the stuck dribblers by passing their own ball between the stuck dribblers spread apart feet.

1v1 to 2v2 to Goal
Set Up:
Divide the group into four teams (A,B,C&D) with a goals near the two corners on the same side of the field as the players. Coach is in the middle with all the balls.
Organisation:
There will be two separate games going on at the same time A vs. B and C vs. D. Play is started by coach serving a ball to teams A and B and a separate ball to teams C and D. Players can score in either goal. Play is over when a goal is scored or the ball goes out of bounds.
Progression:
First player from each line (A and B vs. C and D) enters the field to play 2v2.
Coaching Points:
Goals are set on the same side as the players because we want the players to have to turn the ball, protect the ball and have the option to change directions if they recognize the other goal is open.
-How do we protect the ball?
-How can we change direction?
-Which goal has more space? Which goal is easier to score in?
-If I am shielding the ball and my head is down (eyes on the ball), what am I telling my teammate? I need help!!
-How do we help our teammate when they are shielding the ball? Move into space, use our voice.
