Game Related Practice
Organization: 4v4 inside the 35x20 playing area. Blues defend one end, Reds defend the other. No goalkeepers. Coach serves a ball in and the team in possession must complete one pass and then can score in opponent's goal. 2 minute games and rotate players.
Coachin Points: Press aggressively, close down opponent as soon as possible, track runners, read body shape of teammate, defensive mentality

Conditioned Game
Organization: 7v7 + GKs from 18 to 18 x 60 yards wide. Goalkeepers are restricted to the area of the 'D'. The objective of the game is to successfully play the ball into the opposition goalkeepers hands. This can be done from anywhere on the playing area.
Coaching Points: Aggressive pressure to the ball, do not allow the opponent space to be able to play forward, read the game to anticipate next pass, shift and press together

Phase of Play
Scenario 1: When the opponent plays from one CB to the other
The team shifts and presses together. Ballside winger stays narrow but is ready to press closest fullback. Ballside attacking midfielder presses the CB with the ball. Weakside attacking midfielder slides to cover space. Holding midfielder slides to protect forward pass. Center forward cuts off pass to other CB. Weakside winger tucks in to cut off split pass.

Phase of Play
Scenario 2: When opponent plays from CB to ballside FB
The team shifts and slides together. The center forward presses the CB at an angle so he cannot pass to the other CB. This triggers the team to know the ball will come down one side. Everyone steps to press the opponent directly in front of them as they slide. The holding mid will slide to press the opponent's winger who is tucked inside.

Warm Up
Organization: 12x12 square with players at each corner. Play begins wtih passing clockwise around the square. Players follow their pass to continue the rotation. On the coach's whistle, the players around the square without the ball immediately press the player with the ball. Players reset and exercise begins again.
