Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle

Purposeful Play:  

• Split players into 2 teams on a small sided size field. Each team defends 5 goals on their side of the field.
• It is a normal game split into 4 stages. Each stage has a different rule.
  • 1st - Reduce Stage: When your team makes 10 uninterrupted passes, your team gets to remove 1 of the goals that they need to defend. This stage is over after ~7 minutes OR when one team only has 2 goals left.
  • 2nd - Repair Stage: All players start on 1 leg. Each time your team scores, 2 or 3 (depending on total #s) of your team can now play with both feet.
• Pause the game to ask a few questions.  

• What is one thing you think your family can reduce consuming?
• What is one thing you know how to repair?

• Continue playing with the final 2 stages.
  • 3rd - Reuse Stage: When a player scores, their team keeps possession. Introduce multiple balls.
  • 4th - Recycle: When a goal is scored, the attacking team gets to move that goal to any part of the sidelines or endlines.

• What kinds of things can you reuse?
• What is one thing you want to recycle?
• Which stage in the game did you like the most?
• Outside football, which of the Repair, Reduce, Reuse or Recycle choices do you like the most?
