Football/Soccer Session (Difficult): Directional Transition Skill Game

Skill Game (Directional)

Set Up:

• 20x20 Box with 10 yards end zones and goals either side.
  
• 8v8+1
• Team in possession has 1 player outside each side and in their defensive end zone.
• Out of possession team has all players inside the box

The Game

• Team in poss have to make 3 passes before playing into end zone and scoring. (End zone acts as offside line).
  
• Out of possession team have to defend well to protect end zone and try to win the ball back.
  
• If team in possession loses the ball they all have to come into the box quickly and try win the ball back instantly.
  
• Out of possession team that win the ball need players to transition out of box (as picture above) to signify making the pitch bigger.
  
• Cannot tackle outside the box players
  

CPs:

• Nearest players presses (Press on ball)
  
• 2nd player presses at different angle (Block obvious next pass)
  
• 3rd player sweeps space in behind the press (Cover space in behind the press)
  
• All other players step up and protect space in the lines and prepare to defend through interceptions!
