Introduction (10 mins)

Organization:

-Each player with one ball.

Instructions:

-Players score points by dribbling through gaps created by the other players.

Coaching Points/Questions:

-"When in really tight areas, which parts of the feet are you usually using? Why?"

-"What kind of touch combination can help you get out of a tight area? Show me."

-"Your challenge is to find a moment to touch the ball two times with the same foot, without letting your foot touch the ground in between."

-"Who wants to show me how they did it." (Referancing the previous question)

Regressions/Progressions:

R: Players score a point with every touch they take on the ball.

P: Each gap equals one point but to cash in your points you must exit the area and then come back in.

P: To score you must dribble through a gap and exit the area before you can score again.

P: First player to score "X" points wins.

Main Activity (15 mins)

Organization:

-3v3 with 3 soccer balls.

-2 end zones plus one middle zone (seen in blue).

Instructions:

-Player in possession scores one point by dribbling through the middle zone, and can score a second point by stopping the ball in the end zone. (Directional)

-Possession changes after a point is socred in an enzone.

-Each defender can only defend one player.

-Play, timed rounds or to a certain score.

Coaching Points/Questions:

-"What are some of the challenges?"

-Pull from the players - different ways to overcome the challenges.

-Highlight a player who's unbalanced a defender and show the group how it's happened. "Ask if anyone else has unbalanced a defender and how?"

-Praise players who continuously try to dribble past the defenders. Encourage the brave midset.

Regressions/Progressions:

R: Players in possession can score in any zone.

R: Pair up players according to ability.

P: Defenders have no restrictions.

P: Reduce the number of soccer balls.

Conditioned Game (15 mins)

Organization:

-3v3 with 2 soccer balls.

-The goals are the 'blue lines', each team has 2 goals.

Instructions:

-A point is scored by passing or dribbling a ball across the 'blue line'.

-Dribble or pass in on restarts.

Coaching Points/Questions:

-Encourage the players in possession to take risks when dribbling. Use the free player when needed.

-"How can you unbalance the defender by using the ball? Show me."

-"How can you unbalance the defender without using the ball? Show me."

-Coach the technique.

-Praise aggressive/brave decisions.

Regressions/Progressions:

R: Defenser must start on their own half after a goal is scored.

P: Play with two central goals.

Match (20 mins)

Organization:

-3 teams of 2 players.

-Goal created with cones in the middle. (Larger than a pugg goal)

Instructions:

-2v2 winner stays on.

-2 goals or 90 seconds, whichever comes first. If tied, team on longest comes off.

-Dribble in of pass in on restarts.

Coaching Points/Questions:

-Encourage the players in possession to take risk when dribbling. Use the free player when when needed.

-"How can you unbalance the defender with the ball? Show me."

-"How can you unbalance the defender without the ball? Show me."

-Coach the technique.

-Praise aggressive/brave decisions.

Regressions/Progressions:

R: Increase the size of the goals.

P: 3v3
