Improving the team's ability to shoot - driven shot

Organization:
1.15 x 8 yard areas, set up as shown
2.Players divided into pairs
3.1 ball per pair of players
Instructions:
1.Players shoot against each other for 2 minutes
2.Players score a goal when they strike a shot that knocks over their partner's goal
3.Players attempt to score more goals than their partner
4.After the 2 minutes are up the winners move up one space and the loser move down one space
5.If the games is tied Rock, Paper, Scissors determines the outcome!
5.Objective is to get to the top of the ladder and stay there!
Coaching Points:
1.Create angle of approach with first touch
2.Non – kicking foot to the side of the ball and slightly behind
3.Point toes down to lock the ankle
4.Strike the middle (off center) of the ball
5.Follow through
6.Land on striking foot
Progression:
1.P - Increase distance between the goals
2.P - Players can only shoot with weak foot
3.P - Partner stands infront of cone with legs open

Organization:
1.30 x 15 yard area, set up as shown
2.3 players
3.Repeat in other areas to create a ladder system
4.Multiple balls with each group
Instructions:
1.Players work in groups of three with an attacker on either side of the goal and one player in the goal acting as a goalkeeper
2.The objective is to score as many goals as possible as attackers alternate turns to shoot
3.The attacker starts the game by dribbling and shooting before they reach the second cone
4.If the goal keeper saves the shot or the shot misses the goal the player who misses becomes the goalkeeper
5.After a set time limit the players total up their individual score
6.The player with the highest score moves up a field. The second place stays where they are and the third place player moves down one field and the game is repeated against new opposition

Progression:
1.P – Players must strike with their weaker foot
2.P – Increase the distance to which the attackers shoot from

Organization:
1. Players line up about 10yds from 18yd Box as shown
2.Each Player with a soccer ball
3. Coach is referee
Instructions:
1. Players must shoot on net and Score using laces
2. Then immediately become goalkeeper for the player that is up next
3. If player misses goal and doesn't make a save he/she is OUT of the game
4. If player scores a goal, make a save or does both he/she continues to play
5. Game is done when the last person scores the winning goal
6. GOALIE is allowed to advance to player like in a breakaway

- 15 players split into 2 teams
- playing 8v8/4V4 set up as shown
- Teams play against West/East Team
- half of field playing area
Coach becomes referee
Instructions:
-Attacking Teams ONLY task is to take players on 1v1
- Player must SHOOT whenever and as often as they can
Coaching Points:
- Players should communicate I'm open to teammates when they are in good positions
- Players should dribble when they see no option to pass with the intention of taking a shot
Progressions:
- Limited no. of touches - to encourage off the ball movement

Organization:
4-5 Players set up as shown
area is 40X10 yard Area
One ball per group
Instructions:
- Players dribble to the middle of the area highlight by red cone
- when the dribbling player gets to the cone he/she must pass to the player at opposite end of the area then start some type of dynamic movement to the opposite end.
- Drill then progresses to Lofted and Driven Serves
- Player who receives the pass then repeats the activity
- Dynamic stretches can include, skips, open gates, close gates, sprints, etc.
Coaching Points:
-passes should be sharp out of the feet
- pass the ball to teammates/attackers leading foot
- communication about where to pass or what foot to pass to
- open body motion/angle of approach before receiving pass
- eye contact before making pass
Progressions:
P1 - increase the distance of the area
Regression - reduce area
