Can you use both feet when running with the ball?
No Standing Zone!

Football/Soccer Session Plan Drill (Colour): Shadow Dribbling

Shadow Dribbling (15 mins)

Session Organisation:

Divide the players into two even groups with 1 ball each.
One group leaders and one group shadows (different colour bib).
Field size 20 (L) x 20 (W).

Rules/Explanation:

While dribbling around the area, the leaders are followed by the shadows.
Leaders do moves which shadows must follow.
Ensure leaders don't make 180 degree turns back on shadows.
Players to switch roles after 1.5 minutes.

Progressions:

The time of sets or size of the area can be adjusted to suit the needs and abilities of the players.

Technical Coaching Points:

As Above.

Tactical Coaching Points:

Correct running/dribbling with the ball technique.
Ensure you show players how to protect the ball and keep their head up.
Follow the leader.
Remind the players to be a copycat.
Heads Up.

Session Timing:

Complete 4 sets of 1.5 minutes with a 1 minute rest in between sets.
