UNOPPOSED RECEIVING - STEP TO BALL
Player 1 passes the ball to the centre mid.
1. Centre Mid shows for the ball by going towards the ball from one manequin to the next
2. Body Shape - facing where the ball is coming from
3. In a jumping motion, lunge toward the ball and put all your weigth on teh opposite foot which will not be receiving the ball
4. Open up body to redirect the ball towards a different direction with oposite foot
5. Have a look over your shoulder to where the ball will be redirected
6. Toes up, ankle locked to allow the foot to redirect the path of the ball
7. Upon redirecting the ball, the first step needs to be forward in order to gain a step on the defender
8. Drive into the space with your head up
9. Pass the ball into the opposite goal from where the ball came from
PROGRESSION
1. Pass the ball into the opposite direction from where you are dribbling (back in the same direction from where it came from). Focus on deception with body. Don't open up hips to pass the ball back in the opposite direction
2. Coach calls out the colour of where the pass should go to "BLUE" or "RED"
Player movement:
1 becomes CM
CM collects ball and goes to back of line 1
next ball is passed from 2 to CM (player 1 who has taken up the CM spot)
CM goes to back of line 2
OPPOSED RECEIVING OPENING UP INTO 1v1
CM drops underneath
Winger passes to CM
Defender runs at defender as soon as the winger passes the ball
CM receives by opening up with all the same coaching points as in the unopposed receiving drill
CM takes the Defender on 1v1 to score on one of the two goals to the left or right
If the Defender wins the ball, he/she has to dribble across the line at the top of the box
