Learning Outcomes
The body is an instrument/tool that can be used to assist to defending and attacking.
1. Introduce players to proper defensive stance.
2. Introduce defending with physicality.
3. Develop players' ability to close down with speed.
4. Develop players' ability to close down at an angle.
5. Develop players' ability to identify when to tackle.
What?: Closing down space in control and using the body to successfully defend in 1v1 situations
When?: 1v1 defensive situations,
Where?: Anywhere on the field where you are the 1st defender
Why?: In order to successfully delay the attack, and to recovery the ball to score.
Who?: 2-11 positions, the player closest to the ball when out of possession, (1st defender)

Organization:
- 3 Fields
- 3 Teams
Instructions:
- Defenders will pass ball to attacker and release upon pass
- Defender tries deny the forward from scoring, if wins caps the ball on the cone line
-1 pt for a goal in mini net or dribble through gate
-1 pt for defender to win the ball +1 Bonus if they cap the ball on the opposing endline
- Swicth after 3 minutes
- 2nd round switch the goals to the other side (field 2)

- Reminders of when to poke (toe) vs block (back foot)

Progressions/Regressions:
R-Smaller field

R- Put a gate and make attacker dribble through

Instructions:
- Teams look to score in opposing goal.
- Re-starts are dribble in or kick-in.
- 1 pt -goal
- 3 pt - win in attacking half and score
