Area:
use half pitch with a area marked out infront of the penalty area. increase the area if more players are in the session.
Equipment:
Cones, discs, markers, bibs rebound goal net.
Objective:
Split into 2 teams (red defending, blue attacking). Have a possesion based game in the area infront of the penalty area in the defined area. when the coach blows the whistle he rebounds a ball off the rebound net into the box. The players have to react and leave the posseion game and try to get to the ball first. The defending teams objective is to clear the ball past the yellow line and they score 1 point. If they maintain possesion and dribble the ball through either of the 2 gates then they score 2 points. The attacking teams objective is to try and score in the corners of the goal.If they score a point is deducted from the defending teams score. if the strike misses and rebounds then the game continues. If the ball goes dead by going out of play or a goal/point scored then the practice is restarted with the possesion game until the coach blows the whistle and repeats. After set duration the attacking and defending tems swap.
Progression:
Increase the players on one team to create a player overload.
Defending team can only score by playing out from the back.

Only opposite number can tackle (dribbling RWB)
Number teams on both sides. Your team score a goal by you dribbling through a gate. it is multi directional and anyone can score in any gate. you can only tackle the opponent with the same number as you. For example, if you are number 3 you can only tackle number 3 on the opposite team. You are able to intercept an attempted pass but once the pass is sucsessful only that players opposite number can tackle him. This game is designed to improve decision making of when to pass and when to run with the ball.

Area:
Split the pitch into thirds with goals either end.
Equipment:
Bibs, balls, discs
Objective:
This is a 2 phase game. Split the players into 2 teams. Phase 1 is a possesion game in the middle third with an objective of trying to get as many completed passes between your team mates. Phase 2 commences when a coach at a random point will blow a whistle or call and drop a ball into either end of the middle third. The players leave the ball and possesion game in the middle third and race to get possesion of the ball and attack the goal. The team who do not gain possesion have to defend that goal and try to prevent a goal. If a goal is scored or the ball goes out of play the practice is reset to phase 1 and possesion game in the middle third is restarted.
Progression:
Shortly after a few runs of phase 2, inform the players there will be no whistle/call and they have to be alert to see a ball droped into an end and phase 2 is started.
Aim:
The aim is to improve mental awarness and sharpness and transition.

Split the pitch into thirds and maintain rule of 3 or 5 passes in the middle third before you can progress to the attacking third. Coach can shout play and put a new ball in leaving the current one dead to keep players switched on and react.
