SSG 15 minutes.
For the SSG I have included a GK for the Reds to create an 8 v 8. I have kept the pitch size the same to maintain a lot of realism. I have kept the objectives the same for both teams, but I won't coach as much as I would like to see how much information the players have retained and if things aren't going well I will step in and re-coach the points before or handle any new problems that may occur. I will keep motivating and keep relaying the message
Block 1 :
Will be 7 minutes long with a minute break I will look to coach any new problems or problems 1 and 2.
Block 2:
Will be 7 minutes long and will be same as block 1 focusing on coaching the issues at hand.

Defending the Switch of Play in a 4-4-2 against a 4-3-3
Red Team will be in a 4-4-2 missing 1 GK 2 FB 1 CB ( GK will come in during SSG )
Blue Team will be in a 4-3-3 missing the front 3
Red's Objectives:
- To stop the switch of play.
Blue Team Objectives:
- To use the switch of play and play forwards into the mini nets.
Red team ( Coaching Team ) Blue team ( Management Team )
Key Points
- Pressing angle
- timings
- body position
- pressing triggers
Problem 1
The Blue team has an overload in midfield and they have a +1 advantage over the Reds.
Solution 1:
A solution for this will be to have the Red 6 to get tight to the Blue 10 to make it a 3v3 in the middle. ( the Blue 10 will be told to stay high to make the pitch bigger).
Problem 2: The Blue 10 drops in very deep to collect the ball off the CB's
Solution 2: We will drop off and become narrow and compact and as soon as the ball goes wide we press looking to keep them wide.
Coaching Style:
I will use walkthroughs to show the solutions so the players have a visual example of what the solutions look like and the different ways we can achieve them.
I will use concurrent coaching throughout the session to give individual feedback to certain players who look like they're struggling.
I will use terminal coaching when I am giving out the main bulk of information for example if I am giving the solution to the problem I will stop the session and bring the red team in for a quick chat to tell them the solution to the problem.
Timings
This main practice will be 20 minutes in total.
Block 1:
The first block will be 5 minutes with a 1-minute break and in this block, it is going to be free play for the first 30 sec and then I will introduce problem 1 and solution 1.
Block 2:
Block 2 will be a 5-minute block with a minute break and in block 2 I will start to introduce problem 2 and introduce solution 2.
Block 3:
this block will be 7 minutes and will have a 1- minute water break at the end before the small-sided game and in this block, we will have free play and I will look to solve any other issues we may come across.
SSG:
The small-sided game will be 15 minutes long with little intervention and I will observe if they have taken in any information from the main session and I will look to intervene when there is a big problem that needs dealing with.
