Description

This session is planned for West Rutland Varsity Boys Soccer (Division 4, the lower half of the league, grades 8-12). The session focuses on combination play and keeping possession. The duration of the session is 2 hours. This session would be used towards the beginning of the season when the athletes are getting back into the game. (Zero players on this team play all year round)

The session begins with a dynamic warm-up, progresses into technical skills practice, then small-sided rondos that promote quick ball movement. Next, the session moves into a larger-scale possession activity that stresses quick defensive transitions. The session moves into combination finishing before ending in a scrimmage and cool-down.
