SET UP
Create a pitch 20 x 30m with a mini goal and two gates at one end.
Place extra balls at the opposite end. Play 4 v 3.
HOW TO PLAY
The team of 4 score into the mini goal or by dribbling through
either gate. The team of 3 score by winning the ball and dribbling over the end line (can use neutral for a one touch bounce pass).
If the ball goes out of play the game restarts from the coach who passes to the team of 4.
Change the defenders every 3-4 mins.
PROGRESSION
Add a 10m retreating line if needed.
PLAYER TASKS
Can you set up in a diamond formation?
Can you split to make the pitch big (width and depth)
Can you receive facing forwards or play quickly to get the ball out the other
side?
Can you either come short or go long to create space to receive?
If a team mate dribbles inside the field, can you move outside him/her and vice versa?

Set Up
Create a field 45x60 metres in size with a full size goal at one end and two small goals at the other.
Team being coached (blue) play GK, 4 defenders, 3 centre midfielders, neutral player as striker and use gates as your wide players.
Opposition play with a striker, 2 wingers, 3 midfielders and neutral player as defender.
Neutral player plays for team in possession.
How to Play
Starting point - a shot played from the red to the goalkeeper to start play.
Normal football rules apply except no corners.
Blue team - aim is to play from the GK and score by passing/dribbling through the gates or playing to the neutral player/coach.
Red team - aim to win the ball and score as quickly as possible.
Notes -
Use a Goal as #9 if not enough players - Ball has to enter the goal on the full in order for points to count.
Player Tasks

player in the biggest space and then support and act as a
sweeper?
#3 & 4 - Can you split and then play forward if it's on?
- If you have the space can you dribble forward?
#2 & 5 - Can you get into a position as high and wide as possible?
- When in posession can you pass or drive inside or outside quickly?
#6, 8 & 10 - Can one come short and two go long?

the ball out the other side?

Set Up
Create a field 40x60m in size with a goal at either end.
Both teams will play in a GK-3-3-1 formation.
How to Play
Normal football rules apply except no corner kicks. The team who won the corner will start play with their GK.

Create a field size 35x50 metre in size and divide into 3 areas as shown in the diagram.
How to Play (set the scene for the session)
Set up in a 4-3-1 formation with GK's at either end acting as target/neutral players.
GK starts play by distributing ball to Centre back, all players must touch the ball (in any order) before playing to the opposite GK. Once the ball has been played to opposite GK, start again from your own GK.
Both teams will go at the same time with players staying in their own third of field.
Progression
- Full backs allowed to over lap into the middle zone
- Midfielder can move into attacking zone
