Equipment
50x40yd field, 2 green GK pinnies, 8 yellow pinnies, 8 black pinnies, soccer balls and 2 large nets.
Instructions
Activity: Play 9v9 (including GK) with some conditions. Yellow team plays 1-2-3-3 (mimicking 4-3-3) and Black play 1-3-4-1 (mimicking a 3-4-3). Focus on working with Yellow (attacking team). Black must try and score within 7 seconds upon gaining possession. Restarts from Yellow GK - otherwise regular laws of the game.
Coaching Points:
1. Dispersal - create width / depth in attack with team in possession.
2. Movement into space of CF and ACM (#10) - mobility between players dispersing and dropping in.
3. Weight and accuracy of passes.Timing of runs/passes. Linking up play/runs of midfield 3 and CF
4. CF stretches field to create space for ACM to support the CMs. This will also help to create a midfield overload.
5. When GK is in possession, wingers should be high and wide forcing opposing wingers back (create space for deep lying players to receive).
Progression
Lift the 7 second restraint and play freely.

December 21st, 2020 - 6:00-7:00pm
Session Topic: Attacking mobility between CM and CF
Principles: Mobility and Support
Field: 2/3rd's of field as shown above (zone 3 & 4)
Equipment
50x40yd area. Field divided into three horizontal zones by cones, 2 large nets, soccer balls by each net. 2 green GK pinnies, 8 black pinnies and 8 yellow pinnies.
Instructions
Activity: Play 8v8+GK with modified rules. Teams set up in a 1-4-3-1 formation. Back four and middle three in the central zone. A CF for each team is placed in the opposing end zones as a target player. Teams can score by combining with their CF to advance into the attacking third. The CF cannot score. Players are unopposed in the final third but must finish on a one touch.
Coaching Points
1. Early dispersal when in transition to regaining possession by getting wide and deep.
2. Mobility and movement off the ball to support team in possession. For instance, CB receives ball and plays out wide to FB. FB plays penetrating ball to LCM who moves in between players. LCM lays ball off behind who then plays a straight ball to CF who is making a diagonal run.
3. Weight and accuracy of passes
4. Body position and first touch, while using deception when receiving and passing.
Progression
1. Allow a defender to drop into the end zone and allow for more touches.
2. Make the game transitional - allow players to substitute their CF in the end zone.
