Gates Passing Warm-Up
Set Up: Dots. Balls. Partner and a ball.
*Introduce technique of passing and receiving.
Instructions
Phase 1) ~4 minutes
Players are passing through the gates to their parter, receive with the sole and then pass. After doing this on one gate, go find a new empty gate to do the same.
Phase 2) ~4 minutes
- Partners will work on receiving with directional touches, and passing with inside. Partners will try to pass the ball around the gate
A) Clockwise: Receive with sole using a directional touch, pass on opposite side of gate with inside.
B) Counter clockwise
Phase 3) ~4 minutes
- Passing and moving
- Designate 2-3 defenders (wear pinnies)
- All other players with a partner and 1 ball.
- Players try to pass through as many gates as possible in 90 seconds.
- 1 player passes through, other player receives with directional touch, and now becomes the dribbler (roles reverse after each pass!)
- How many gates did you pass through in a row?!?
- If defender kicks your ball out of bounds, restart your count.
- Change defenders after each round.

Passing Receiving While Moving Warm-Up
Set Up: Partner and a ball. FULL COURT. Volcano Cones and obsticles.
Instructions:
- Players will get a partner and ball. Partners will be moving, and passing and receiving with one another. Players should be trying to avoid hitting any of the cones or items on the court by creating passing lanes without them in the way.
Start Slow: Tell the players to lightly jog for the first few min.
- Players must look for open space, and find passing lanes so as not to hit any other groups.
- Players MUST take directional touch with sole of the foot when receiving.
- Passes should be directly at a moving player, or slightly in front (never behind)
1st Progression: Players will receive with directional touch, then perform a skill move before passing it again.
2nd Progression: Players must be more than 7 meters apart when passing and have 3 touches before they pass. (One to receive, one to set up and one to pass)
3rd Progression: Add in 1 or 2 Knock out artists and see which pair can keep their ball the longest without being knocked out.
Note: If players are doing well with first first instructions, then coach can add progressions. If they are struggling with passing and receiving while moving, do not add progressions.

2v2 Continuous
Set Up: 3 courts. Pinnies. Dots. Balls. Cones and/or bazookas.
Instructions:
- Set up 3 courts for play as shown above.
- Teams will play 2v2 to the small goals.
- Rotate who plays against who every 2 minutes.
* If players are not passing, make it a mandatory pass before they can score
** SPAIN GAME: however many passes are completed before the goal is scored is how much that goal is worth( 3 pass + goal = 3 points)
Main Focus: using your teammate, passing and moving
Primary Objectives:
- 1v1 attacking skills
-passing and receiving
- Using our teammates
- Movement

Scrimmage
Expression of Self and Team - Freedom to be Creative
Create even teams based on numbers, and have them play even playing time. Play regulation rules of scrimmage all season long.
- Sub correctly through the subbing portal
- player must be off before new player comes on.
- Ball must be stopped on the line for kick ins and corner kicks
- 4 seconds rule
- U12 cannot throw the ball directly over half from GK (must bounce or be touched first before crossing the line) - Distance given for kick ins and corner kicks
