Goal: Improve Build out using two #6s.
Overview: In this session we are looking to build out using two defensive mids. We are specifically working on our build-up using a double pivot. We want to build out this way as it commits more players to building out. So making it easier to build out due to a numerical advantage or if the other team does try to commit players we now have space in behind to build out with.
Attacking TTP: Spread out, Triangulate the ball, and create a 2v1
Defending TTP: Get compact and keep it compact, Pressure with cover and balance
Who: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #8, #10
What: Attacking in the defensive third using the #6 and #8
Where: Defensive Third
When: As we are in possession in the defensive third
Why: We want to build out using our center mids to progress the ball up the field
Technical Points:
Address the body shape of the #6 and #8 of how they receive the ball to more easily progress the ball forward. If their back is to the goal they should bounce the ball back to the CBs or GK. If they can receive on the half turn they should look to play forward to the higher-positioned fullbacks.
Guided Questions:
Given how we are set up who are we trying to build through? The center mids
Since the center mids are deeper in build-up where is the space? In behind
Player actions:
The #2 and #3 should take up very high and wide positions
The #6 and #8 both drop in to create a box with the centerbacks to create passing options centrally
The #6/8 should look to bounce the ball to #4 or #5 when there is pressure on there back and they can't turn
The #8/6 should to see of they can recieve on the half turn and play forward

Orientation Phase 15 minutes (or however long it takes to bring out the problem)
Activity Description: In this activity, we have 8 reds who are the learning team vs the 6 blues who are the orientation phase. The reds are looking to build up and score on the two counter goals. The blues are looking to win possession and score on the big goal.
In the orientation phase, we will be working with the blues. The blues are looking to win the ball high up the field and force play wide. They want to force the play wide as in this phase of the game they are outnumbered and want to use the sideline as an extra defender. In this phase coach over the top to encourage the blues to press the ball, cut the field in half, force a bad pass or bad touch and steal the ball to go to the goal.
Guided Questions: Since we are outnumbered what can we use tohelp? The sideline
Dimensions: 40x30
Duration: 15 minutes (7x2 reps) 1 minute deliver coaching moments

Learning Phase 35 Minutes
Activity Description: In this activity we have 8 reds who are the learning team vs the 6 blues who are the orientation phase. The reds are looking to build up and score on the two counter goals. The blues are looking to win possession and score on the big goal.
In the learning phase having brought out the problem in the previous stage, we will be working with the reds in the learning phase now. The Reds have two defensive mids to help them in build-out. Due to there being two defensive mids in the build-up phase we can encourage the fullbacks to take higher positions on the field. Encourage passes into the center mids in order to build out. Look to combine centrally in order to free up one of the fullbacks. Give bonus points if we are able to score as a result of building up centrally.
Guided Questions:
Given how we are set up who are we trying to build through? The center mids
Since the center mids are deeper where is the space for us to build out? In Behind
Dimensions: 40x30
Duration: 35 minutes (11x3 reps) 1 minute deliver coaching moments x2

Learning Phase 1.1
Notice how in this diagram we are able to build out centrally by one of the 6s bouncing the ball to the open centerback. This allows the center back time and space to dribble at speed in order to create 2v1s with their fullback or to a center mid depending on who presses from the blues.

Implementation Phase (20 Minutes)
In the implementation phase, we are looking to see if we can use what we just learned in a game. When presented in the game can either team build out effectively using their center mids? Reward either team if they can build centrally through the center mids.

Warm UP
Warm-up 20 minutes
To start the practice the team will start with their dynamic stretches.
After their dynamic stretches players will then jump into a 2v2+3 rondo. Since we are working with building up with two 6s in the build-up phase we want to encourage central passes that split the two defenders into the neutral #6 or we looking to bounce the ball using the #6. The team in possession should be looking to make the field big by being spread out and trying to build from the #6.
Guided Question:
Where do we have an advantage with the ball? With the neutral #6
Dimensions: 20x15
Duration: 20 minutes (10x2 reps)
