Goal: Involve the #2 and #3 in the attack to create 2v1s in wide areas.
Overview: We are trying to get into 2v1s in wide areas when attacking in the final third. To create these 2v1s we want to encourage the fullbacks to get up and join the attack. We want the fullbacks to get involved with dribbling into the final third and making runs off the ball like overlaps and underlaps.
Attacking TTP: Spread out, switch point of attack, and create a 2v1
Defending TTP: Get compact and keep it compact, Pressure with cover and balance
Who: #2 and #3
What: Attacking in the final third in wide areas using the #2 and #3
Where: Final Third
When: As we are in possession in the final third
Why: We want to create 2v1s in wide areas to create goal-scoring chances
Coaching Points:
For the attacker with the ball: Engage the defender before making a decision, and recognize when to pass or dribble.
For the fullback make underlap and overlap runs when working with the winger in wide areas.
For the defending team delay the attack and use pressure cover balance
Player Actions:
The #2 and #3 need to stay wide
If the #2/3 receive the ball wide the #7/11 should look to go inside so they are not on the same line
The #8 should look to receive the ball from one side and look to switch the point of attack to create 2v1s

Activity Description:
In this activity, we have the Orientation team the reds who have a #1 #2 #3 #4 #5, #6 #8 and #10 and are looking to score on the three counter goals. We also have the learning team the Blues who have a #2 #3 #6 #7 #8 #9 #10 #11 and are looking to score on the main goal. The game will start with #6 of the blues getting the ball.
Orientation Phase (20 minutes or however long it takes to bring out the problem):
In the orientation phase, we are working with the red team. Since they are outnumbered in this phase of the game we want to force play wide and delay the attack. We want to make the blue team frustrated and force them into playing predictably.
Guided Questions: Where can we force play? Since we are outnumbered what can we use to our advantage?
We can force play wide and cut the field in half to have less space to defend. We can use the sideline as an extra defender.
Time: 20 Mins (9 min x 2 sets) 1 min break to deliver coaching and send for water.
Dimensions: 35x40.

Learning Phase 30 Minutes:
In the learning phase, we are working with the blue team. The blue team is looking to switch the point of attack quickly in order to take advantage of the 2v1s they naturally have in the wide areas due to the #2 and #3 joining the attack. When the ball gets to the fullback can they combine with the winger to create 2v1s. When those 2v1s are created can we create goal-scoring chances from it?
Coaching Points: If the fullback starts wide the winger's starting position should be between the opposition fullback and center back. If the fullback receives the ball inside the field the winger should hug the touchline and create the width.
Guided Questions: Where do we have an advantage on the field? How can we best take advantage of this? In the wide areas we have an advantage. By quickly moving the ball from one side to the other.

Implementation Phase 20 Minutes
In the implementation phase, we are looking to see if we can use what we just learned in a game. When either team is in the attacking third can the defenders get up the field to create a 2v1 in wide areas? Encouraging dribbling to bring out a defender in order to create the 2v1.
Duration: 20 Minutes (9.5x2) Gives the teams a chance to get a drink and switch sides like a game.

Warm Up (20 Minutes 10x2)
In the warm-up phase, players will go through their dynamic stretches to start off practice. This should go through all major dynamic stretches throughout their body. 2x repetition per stretch.
Activity Description: In the activity we have a 3v3 game with two neutral players. The neutral players are only allowed to play in the wide channels and can be pressured when they get the ball. We want to encourage attacking in the wide areas and using the neutral players often over the course of the warm up.
