Overview:
Assessors will need to add to their notes from Day One, so all players must be identified through the same bib and shirt numbers which have been allocated to them for the session.
All coaches will be leading the environment, and ensuring that the timings are followed, to allow flow through a high paced set of matches. It is key that players are also given the opportunity to represent their teams during the day, especially in the match play. Focus will be leadership skills and communication through gameplay, and then positional understanding in full pitch gameplay.
Structure of the Day:
End Zone Rollerball and GK pad - 10 minutes activity, then 5 minutes organisation/drinks break. 15 minutes
Olympics (Small Sided Games) - 7v7 10 minute matches, 5 minute team talk and rotation. 75 minutes
Drinks Break - 5 minutes recovery, then 5 minutes organisation for 11v11 gameplay. 10 minutes
Durham v Yorks 11v11 gameplay - 4 lots of 15 minute gameplay and 5 minutes team talk. 80 minutes
Players warm down and stretch after the session.
Key items to consider:
Breakdown of squads:
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Hockey images.
Olympics 2021 - 75 minutes
7v7: 6 outfield players and 1 GK. (Possibly 1 substitute depending on numbers. Must rotate).
Each team allocated a Country to try and perform as, and adapt during their team reviews.
I don't think that the pitch has circles for half pitch matches so please use throw down lines as scoring zones. Any infringement inside those areas results in a long corner from half way, and the player who caused the infringement enters the sin bin for 45 seconds.
Penalty Strokes can be awarded, but must be a shuffle from the centre line.
Please see notes on plan for purpose of the games.

Drinks and Team Preparation - 10 minutes
10 minutes to get water on and players into their Performance Centre teams. Please organise the rotations before the day.

11v11 Yorks v Durham - 80 minutes
Normal game play of quarters; 15 minutes of play with 5 minutes between quarter. Please ensure that all players are given the opportunity to perform, and that their minutes on the pitch gives them a chance to be assessed.
Player positions would be useful for the assessors. Please try to put players in position that they intend to play at Futures Cup and NAGs.
Coaches to umpire, lead the bench, and provide feedback to the assessors throughout the matches.
Remember that the half pitch is available for players and GKs who are waiting to get onto the pitch. This MUST BE monitored by a coach for safety reasons.

End Zone Roller Ball
End Zone Rollerball - 15 minutes
Small mixed groups of 7 a side to play roller ball. Team scores if passed to a team mate who is stood either on the base line or the half way line. Their foot MUST be touching the line when they receive the ball.
Encourage players to lead through and get ahead. Forward Fast First.
When they score at one end then they change direction, and score at the other end. How do they self organise and direct instructions in the group? Assessors to be looking at who is vocal early with both instruction and encouragement.
