Organization:
- Set up as shown.
Instructions:
First Phase;
- On coach's call, both teams (reds and blues) will simultaneously look to play a 3v1 to score on designated goal. The exercise starts with both wingers driving in at speed to deliver a cross into their attackers in the attacking third who are looking to finish on goal.
- The two attackers must vary their runs to attack the goal i.e. dummy runs, near and back post runs to attack the cross.
- Defender must look to defend and win back possession, upon winning back possession, the defender has to dribble into the middle third or pass the ball to the ball to the "resting winger" waiting on the outside.
Second Phase;
- Upon finishing on goal, the two attackers must look to quickly return into the middle third and compete for the third ball played in by the coach and must now look to attack and finish on opposition goal to play a 3v3 game.
The team in possession can only finish on goal inside the attacking third.
- The winger is allowed to join play once the two attackers breaks into the attacking third to make it a 3v1, 3v2, or a 3v3, the opposite winger is not allowed to recover.
- Offside law applies.
- If a team wins back possession inside their defending third, they have to combine quickly to arrive in the middle third to score a point, they can also score a point by dribbling / running with the ball into the middle third.
- Once the third ball served by the coach is results in a goal or the ball goes dead, players will return back to their starting positions and restarts the exercise.
- The players rotates roles on coach's call.
Coaching Points:
- Sprint to arrive in the box.
- Vary your runs and make it less predictable for the defender(s) to track your runs.
- Quick finishing.
- Selection of finishing techniques i.e. volleys, headers, driven shots, inside curl, tap-ins etc.
- Varied crosses i.e. cut back cross, near / back post cross, driven cross, hung cross, chip cross, curled cross, lofted cross etc.
- Quick transitions i.e. attacking & defending.
Progressions:
- Once a team breaks into the attacking third, they have a maximum of 6 seconds to finish on goal.
- The skill practice progresses into a condition game.

- 7v7 including goalkeepers.
- Reds attack in 1-2-1-3 and defends in 1-2-3-1.
- Blues attack in 1-1-3-2 and defends in a 1-3-1-2.
- All players must cross the halfway line for a goal to count.
Coaching Points:
- Previous coaching points when applicable.
- Quick combination play to finish on goal.
- Quick improvisation to get past defender(s).
Progressions:
- Competition (scenario game / game situation).
- Practice game.

Technical Practice
Organization:
Set up as shown.
Instructions:
- The exercise starts with Player A playing a diagonal pass into Player D.
- Before Player A passes to Player D, a quick movement / check away must be made by Player D before checking back in to play set pass to player B.
- Player B will look to play a long diagonal pass to E into the flank / wide channel.
- Player E looks to make a run and receive the ball in space before driving into the crossing / cutback zone to deliver a cross into the target area inside the box.
- Player C and Player D looks to makes cross / x runs to attack the ball in the target area and finish on goal.
- Once the play is finished, Player A and Player B moves up to take the starting positions of Player C and Player D while Player C and Player D moves back to the the end of the line.
- The next play would be restarted on the opposite side with Player B starting with the ball.
Coaching Points:
(1). Direct Play - Be direct i.e. move the ball quickly to finish on goal i.e. "catch & play," sprint and finish.
(2). Crossing Techniques - Use different crossing techniques i.e. cut back, driven, hung, lofted, curl etc.
(3). Shooting Techniques - Use different shooting techniques to finish on goal i.e. placing, curling or striking through the ball
should all be used.
(4). Movements - Varied movements i.e. Use different types of movements / runs when attacking the goal i.e. X/Cross runs, diagonal
runs, dummy runs etc.
Progressions:
- Finish on goal with quality within 6 seconds once the entry pass is being played.
- Progress to the skill practice.
