Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): GK Program Week 11: Footwork and Handling (Start Time: 2017-10-30 18:30:00)

Technical Footwork and Handling (60 mins)

Groups of 3/4: 3 Cones Per Group: 2 balls per group (8 Rounds - 4 Each way)

Red Cones are 4 yards apart. White cone is 1-2 yards behind or in front of Red Gate based on letter.

A: GK Steps down the ball line of one of the two balls. Gets through the gate and plays a one-touch pass back and then gets into the ball line of the 2nd ball and deals w/a scoop.

B: Steps down ball line of one of the two balls and deals w/ball for a 2-touch pass, then gets across to other ball line and deals with basket/contour catch service.

C: GK Drop sets into the goal and deals w/service for save in control zone and then deals with low service for collapse dive.

D: GK passes ball to server without ball and then gets into ball line of second server and deals with service. Then adjusts to deal with service for mid-range collapse dive from 1st server.

E: GK passes ball to server w/out ball, then drop sets and deals with low service for collapse dive and then gets up and deals with high ball from server they passed too

F: GK drop sets after passing ball and deals with service for front smother. Then attacks ball for breakaway save that is rolled by server they passed too.

CPs

-Set Position: movement, balance, hand positioning, and eye line

-Handling Technique: Scoop, basket, contour, collapse dive

-Head, hands, shoulders thorugh the ball

-Step into path of the ball when diving. Take the ball to a new place

-Quality, weight, accuracy of pass

-KEEPER Calls

-Decision-Making and being clean!!
