Set up square grid (size according to quality of players)
Numerous balls in the middle of the grid.
On coach's call, players collect one ball at a time and bring it back to their corner. First team to X number of balls in their corner wins.
Can carry, throw, dribble, or pass depending upon the session topic.
CPs: Competition, decision-making, quick turns, scanning
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Set up as shown above with four Pugg goals back-to-back.
Grid = 30 x 25 (or similar)
Play 4v4 on the field (or however many the coach chooses)
Players score via one-touch only -- forces players to get into dangerous attacking areas (and for passers to play a quality ball)
If ball is scored = point for scoring team, both teams are off and coach calls specific number from each team to come on to play.
If ball goes out of bounds = both teams are off and coach calls specific number of players from each team to come out and play
Variations - only score in certain goals (ie: furthest away, closest, diagonal, all four), score on two or more touches, connect number of passes before going to go, play for a certain amount of time before changing players
CPs: Communication, getting into dangerous and valuable positions, connecting quality passes, utilize vision, exploit space (both attacking and defending)
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Finishing the session by playing 4v4 in half the field. Try to get players to play in a diamond shape (they understand that terminology). Allow play to one or two goals depending upon how the session is progressing.
Have a number of balls ready to put into play so players do not have to chase.
Allow to play for a few minutes (4-8 minutes)
CPs: Have fun with the ball, enjoy playing soccer, try to do what we practiced.
