(Progressions & Regressions):
To progress this we could move the goals to opposite sides to defend the diagonal goal
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
we could introduce a points system for tackles made eg stop a shot/goal = 1 point
Key Coaching Points
1. Quick reactions to defend the goal after finishing
2. Speed to get across to defend
3. Body shape to force the direction of the attack
4. Slide across if late to block shot
5. Attackers must get head up to see defenders position.

Technical (15 mins)
Focusing on defensive recovery runs. setup by splitting the area in half with both having the same setup. To begin, one player (Blue 5) will drive forward and finish in the mini goal once they pass the cone. As they finish, this triggers the player on the other side (Red 1) to drive forward with the ball. The first player (Blue 5), must make a quick recovery run across after finishing and try and stop the other attacker from finishing. This pattern will continue until all the balls have been used or the coach calls for a water break or intervention.
Defending MECHANICS
1. Get in line with the ball
2. Pressure on the ball
3. Deceleration
4. Body position
5. Stay on toes
6. Be patient
7. Decision to win the ball
