Learning Outcome:
Identify open options inside the box when we have the ball on the right flank right outside the box.

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
- 6v6m boxes, 4 players per box set up in a 3v1. 1 ball per box.
- 4 teams of 3 players (defending team rotates in after 2 minutes).
Instructions:
- 3v1: attacking players are outside box and player on ball has to always have two options that are adjacent. Therefore, player on ball should have an option to his/her right and left.
- Defender can only intercept when ball is in box.
- Each pass is a point.
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Can we recognize when we have to move to one of the sides to be an option for our teammate?
- Can we be on our toes? Body, hips, shoulders, facing the options in square.
Progressions:
- After 4 passes, can we play through to an attacker outside box, and 1 player is allowed to join.

Organization:
- Use grid on the right flank in previous activity.
- 2 mini goals facing the flank as shown.
- Keep 4 teams of 3 players: 3v1 set up on top grid (as previous activity).
- Defending team: 1 defender in 3v1 grid, 1 defender in 'blocking zone' to block pass and 1 defender guarding the mini goals.
Instructions:
- Combine 4 passes in grid and after the 4th pass, send ball to one of our teammates making a run forward down the flank. Once player receives, he/she tries to score on mini goals from the flank.
- Defending team: defender guarding mini goals, gets a point if he/she steals ball inside channel.
- Once ball is outside grid, player has 3 seconds to score on mini goal.
- Each team gets to defend once.
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Once we recieve the ball outside the grid, can we take a touch, look up and 'pass' ball into mini goal?
- Can we recognize when to make the run forward into the open channel.
Progressions:
- Take away mini goals and add a striker, a goalkeeper and 2 defenders. In this progression, cones can be placed in box to show where attackers can spread out in the box. Also players from grid join the attack (4v4).
- Add option for attacker to get closer to the mini goals.

Organization:
- Use entire half.
- 5v5
- Red team: GK, outside backs, center defender and center midfielder.
- 3 mini goals at half and cones marking the wider areas.
Instructions:
- White team: if a ball comes from a wider area before scoring, that goal is worth 2 points.
