Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
A practice designed to work different aspects of the role of the CAM (including receiving with back to goal, combining with team mates, shooting)
Up to 16 players
Largest area required - one half of pitch
Equipment:-
2 x goals
3 x mannequins/poles
Supply of balls

Set Up:-
1 x goal
1 x mannequin/pole
Supply of balls (1 per player min)
Duplicate practice at other end of pitch depending on number of players
How it works:-
Players receive pass from teammate.
Using a variety of touches, receiving player must move the ball away from defender and get a shot of as quickly as possible.
Type of touches:-
Take a touch and then move ball with outside of foot
Take a touch and then move ball with inside of foot
Take touch, feint to one side and then move ball to other side
1-touch to move ball beyond defender
Coaching Points:-
First touch - keep close if playing on 2-touches; get away from body and away from defender if playing 1-touch
Aim low if shooting for far post
Aim high if shooting for near post
Always hit target, make keeper work
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
Who can get most shots on target
Who can score most goals
Use bibs in goals as targets to hit

Set Up:-
3 x mannequins/poles set up on edge of penalty area
1 x goal
Good supply of balls (at least one per attacking player)
Duplicate practice at other end of pitch depending on number of players.
How it works:-
Player 1 starts practice by running at mannequin, performing a skill of the players/coaches choice, getting to other side and taking a shot.
Immediately after shot, player 1 turns and plays a 1/2 with Player 2 around 2nd mannequin
Player 2 then shoots and continues run to back post.
Player 1 continues run toward player 3, received pass from player 3 and then plays it back down the line.
Player 1 then makes run to near post, player 3 moves ball to by-line to make a cross.
Change positions after each round.
Coaching Points:-
Weight of pass to enable 1/2 and allow receiving player to get shot off quickly
Aim for corners when shooting
Quality of cross
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
Shoot with weaker foot
Change type of cross e.g. lofted , driven across area etc

Small Sided Game
Up to 8 v 8
Normal football rules apply
If a player receives a pass within the shaded area he cannot be tackled but must play off 3-touch max. Defender are still able to block passes/shots

Cam Practice - Technical (15 mins)
Set-Up
A coned area measuring 5m x 5m per each group.
Minimum of 4 players per practice area.
One ball per group (extras available on outside)
How it works:-
Players on outside pass to player in the middle of the practice area.
Before making the pass, the outside player calls out a name of one of the other outside players. The central player then has to pass the ball as quickly as possible to the player whose name has been called
Keep tempo high
Change central player every 2 minutes
