Description

3 v 2 in Wide Areas

Looking for combinations between Full Back, Winger and #10 or #9 dropping into wide areas on the field. 

The Centre Backs weight of pass and playing into the #10 or #9's strong side (Ball played away from covering defenders) starts the attacking practice off. 

Looking to attack at speed and with clever combinations of passing between the BP three players.

BPO - Looking to handle 3 v 2 overload and defend the goals. starting positions are inverted with one high defender and one deep representing Winger and Full Back. 

Step up introduced a defensive CB or #6 in to the game.

3 v 2 Wide Area Overload (20 mins)

3 v 2 Overload in wide areas.

Rotation of players follow numbers 1-2 / 2-3 / 3-4 / 4-1 /

Two defenders setup in front and back half of field. Field size is 15m wide x 25m long.

Objective:

Centre Back (1) passes the ball into an on running #10 (4). Who has worked through ladders to resemble effort to move into wide areas of the pitch. 

Once the pass is played the game is live with the Full Back (2) pushing forward to support and the Winger (3) keeping width and depth. 3 v 2 Overload. 

*note Centre Back (1) does not enter the game zone. 

Can the players find combinations to score in either of the small goals. 

Step Up - Change to 3 v 3 with the introduction of a 3rd cover defender. This defenders enters the zone on the touch of the #10 (4) - NOT BEFORE HIS TOUCH. Allowing for space created  from his movement into the wide area.
