Warm up no ball - 15 Minutes

Focus: Movement and Coordination and FUN!

Equipment: Markers, Cones, Ladders

Players: 6

Set Up:

2 Ladders on quarter, markers spread out randomly on quarter court

1. Without ball, follow the leader

Coach leads the group through the markers, performing different movements at marker (jump both feet, jump 1 foot, bear crawl, crab walk)

2. Go To The Zoo! Coach asks players what their favorite animal is at the zoo, players must move like that animal through the markers

3. Ladders -

1 foot through, 2 feet through, jumps, crawls through ladders

Focus of the beginning should be to gauge players athletic ability, coordination, and balance

15 Minutes

4 Corners in half of court, balls evenly distributed in 4 corners

Players in center square

Players retreive the ball and bring it back to the center. Players try to bring as many balls back as possible

Coach demonstrates different ways to bring ball back (inside, laces, sole)

Any time ball goes out, coach throws another in.

Encourage dribbling and fun
