4v4 to endzones (15 mins)
3v4 or 4v4
- Attacking 4 try to play endzone to endzone for 1 point.
- Defensive players try to regain the ball to then score in the endzones
- Defenders can only send 1 player to press into the endzone (if they choose to)
- Attackers can use the numbers up in endzone to compose themselves before attacking far endzone
- Offside is in effect throughout
3x5'
Coaching points:
- Principles: Delay, Compactness
- Cues to pressure opponent
- Defensive shape of 4 (two lines, 1 of pressure, 3 of cover)
- Balance player cover space, not man
Progressions:
- Can add target player behind endzone. If able to find target player and then receive in the endzone, worth 2 points (this is to encourage recovery runs from defenders)
Once attackers break lines to find the target, defenders can all defend endzone
